Waiting for the Bus
In: Public Projects
The viewer is left to wonder whether Superman has lost his powers of flight and super speed, or if, indeed he is an everyman, just looking to fit in. In a twist, Superman was cast from the artist’s own body and face, though the hair was a “prosthetic”. This sculpture was “collected” by a member of the community shortly after its placement in the bus stop. The artist hopes he is sitting on someone’s porch in South St. Louis, keeping the neighborhood safe.
